Oakland-native David Jackson is the founder and chief creative officer of Firstquake Entertainment. Mr. Jackson has decades of experience across multiple areas of the music industry, from concert promotion and production, to artist management and mentoring. Most recently David has worked as a consultant and mentor to major label artists including 2-time Grammy winner “The Wanz” and Owuor Arunga of Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. He has been a entertainment industry consultant for over 17 years. His clients have included production companies, independent record labels, recording artist, senators, and the consul general of South Africa. Mr. Jackson co-founded Half & Half Recording Studios & Productions in Sioux Falls, SD, voted one of the top ten recording studios in the world by Mix Magazine, and has represented talent such as Dionne Warwick, Tony Gwynn of the San Diego Padres, the Headhunters, Stefano Langone (American Idol finalist), Bill Summers and a host of internationally acclaimed artists. He has extensive ties within the entertainment industry, having worked more than 32 major concerts as a promoter, artist manager and promoter representative, involved in the productions of acts such as Boyz II Men, Cyndi Lauper, Jay-Z, and MC Hammer. Mr. Jackson is a member of the Recording Academy (the Grammys) and has taught on the music industry at South Dakota State University. Prior to his career in music, Mr. Jackson served honorably as a submariner in the United States Navy.
